Meet the 2019 TWB Boston Runners

Patriots' Day is almost here! Over the years, scores of team members have run Boston Qualifier times and competed in the Boston Marathon. This year, 5 members of the team will be lining up to battle the elements (again?) and the fabled course from Hopkinton to Boston. Here is a little bit of information about our teammates running this year.

Anne Keillor

New York

Anne trained through a nasty winter on Long Island to prepare for her first Boston Marathon. Anne was one of the runners who was within seconds of making the Boston field in previous years only to miss out when the cutoffs were announced. Last year, Anne worked hard and gave herself a huge cushion under her BQ standard, earning the right to run this year's race. Given the weather, Anne plans to have fun and enjoy the experience running with her uncle, who is coming back from injury. She hasn't ruled out running hard, though, and her fitness is in a really good spot for a fast time. She's trained in high winds all winter, so she's ready for anything!

Mike Dasalla

California

Mike Dasalla has been a member of Team Wicked Bonkproof working with Coach Caleb for a few years and has been running BQ times in nearly all of his marathons over the last couple of years. Mike already knows how to deal with rain and wind in Boston as he was a competitor last year during the EPIC conditions. Mike most recently ran a course PR at the LA Marathon, which he used as a tune-up workout for Boston, where he hopes to chase a Personal Best.

Mike Stevenson

North Carolina

Mike joined the TWB community just last month after being most of the way through a pre-written plan. While making some small changes to his training Coach Johnny is excited to have Mike practice running a more patient race, which is something Mike has admitted he has struggled with before. With tougher conditions expected out on Marathon Monday time goals are out the window and we're focusing on what's most important, competing!

Jeremy Bridges

North Carolina

Jeremy trains with a group of runners in Raleigh, North Carolina that have been coached by Coach Caleb for a couple of years. The group consistently puts runners in the top positions at races around the Research Triangle. Jeremy has run Boston before, and is going this year to have some fun and without a specific time goal in mind (don't sleep on him, though, he's fit!). Jeremy most recently raced the RDC Marathon last November, where he punched his ticket for Boston 2020 if he wants to head back again.

Zack McCormick

Utah

Zack has been a great addition to the team (working with Coach Johnny) with a "go and get it done" attitude; he's had a busy schedule traveling to work conferences, 5:00 AM runs on the treadmill, and getting in all his schedule training even while on vacation in Hawaii. Zack has seen himself come forward in terms of strength very well these last few months.  Also, as extra motivation for Zack is the fact that this very well could be his last marathon without a child, as his wife is expecting in August!

In the last year, 3 members of Team Wicked Bonkproof have earned a spot at the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials and team members have run over 50 BQ times in races all around the globe. We're so excited to see how these 5 runners perform on Monday, and how the team continues to race in the future!
