The Importance of warm-ups

Warming up is a valuable tool to help prepare the body for a harder workout to come or even to help loosen up stiff muscles before an easier workout. We have shared a warm-up routine with each camper to help give you a better understanding of what’s included in a warm-up. We wanted to talk more on why you shouldn’t skip a warm-up and some tips that will keep you focused and ready to run your best!


So what are strides and why do they matter?

Coach Caleb talks about the importance of strides in today's topic. Strides can be easily overlooked post run but are one of the most important elements into creating a finishing kick and more efficient running form. We'll give you the reasons why strides are important, when to do strides, and some cues to think about while running.



AIS & Foam Rolling

Coach Johnny talks more about the importance of foam rolling and Active Isolated Stretching(AIS). It can often be an "un-sexy" topic but foam rolling and stretching is how you maximize your time in-between runs and workouts. Life is already really busy. Being pulled to work, family, and other hobbies makes for a really busy schedule, so how do we also balance running on top of that? Coach Caleb discusses how to make your running goals work in your life.

Importance of easy days

Easy runs don't get at much attention as workouts, long runs, and racing, but they're the key to becoming a really successful runner. It's really common for easy days to be too hard. Coach Johnny talks about why we need to keep the easy days easy, how to check your effort if you're running by yourself or with someone else, and how much of your total training to keep easy.
